Diagnosing Vacuum Leak Locations - Not PCV/Rear Breather
Last Poster: dadawg22 in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on Today at 04:51:31 am
Hello all, recently I'#039ve been battling a vacuum leak issue with my 2007 FSI model MK5 GTI. The engine code thrown up was the System Bank Too Lean that led me to suspect the PCV at first, but after replacing it and the rear breather (huge PITA) with the latest iteration parts I still hear a loud hissing noise when the engine runs, along with very poor idling and near stalling. Ther

So, managed to fix the seating position... As I previously said, the Recaro Pole Position seats are, on their lowest setting, significantly higher than the stock seats. I kind-of got used to them like this, but since I fixed the steering wheel I said I could fix this as well. So, I manufactured some side mounts, about 3cm shorter thinking it would solve the problem. But I

They are made by Continental now and bought a decent secondhand one off eBay a couple of years ago using the latest part number at the time, then used VCDS to re-sync/align it
My PN is 06F133062T and was off a Mk7 Golf GTI or R for £30 and sorted my issues......still going strong

My car has got the front one fitted (put on by a previous owner). I didnt know until someone pointed it out to me after 4 years of owning the car.
However recently the rear has gone around the interior light and I have reluctantly bought the part you have linked but not fitted yet. Agre

i think it might just be an unplugged wire
also for the injectors it's really bad to get non genuine injectors, definitely will fail again soon. you should send off your old set to rtech for cleaning. if any are unrepairable, they will provide refurbished ones for £100 each
also make sure to replace all the seals

Hey, i have the same issue on cyl 4. Switched spark plugs and coils but the misfire was still at 4. Ordered an injector, removed the intake to also do carbon clean and saw that the inlet valve was burned/leaking :( No issues driving, dont feel power loss only misfire at idle... good luck ✌️

Looks like it's burning oil, have you checked the oil level recently?
Probably turbo seals gone, when was the K04 fitted and was it a used one? It's going to need to go to a garage for further diagnostics

HNY nbsp Our GTI rear washer is not working, took the back panel off and it sprays into the boot at full speed! It doesn'#039t seem to be the connection of the hose to the fixed part, but its firing out above that on a fixed piece <

Hey, thanks for the tip. I have a slightly different HVAC control scheme, but I tried to replicate what they did here. It didn'#039t seem to do anything immediately but a couple hours later I started the car up again and the blower began working.
I'#039ll update this thread later if I ever figure out what caused it and what actually got it fixed, but I can'#039t rule out the flap
